On the afternoon of April 11, the "Symposium on Clinical Application and Translational Development of New Stem Cell Technologies", co-hosted by the editorial office of Chongqing Medicine and the Wang Zhengguo Academician Workstation at Beike Biotech, was successfully held. The symposium brought together numerous experts, scholars, clinicians, and industry representatives in the stem cell field to jointly explore the latest developments, clinical applications, and future directions of stem cell technology. The meeting was chaired by Director Shi Yun of the Chongqing Medicine editorial office.

At the venue

Director Shi Yun, editorial office of Chongqing Medicine
Professor Cai Cheguo — Professor of the Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, UCAS, and Chief Scientist of Beike Biotech's R&D Center — delivered a presentation titled "Clinical Application Research of Stem Cells and the Construction and Application of Organoids", sharing his research achievements in tissue regeneration and repair: the establishment of three-dimensional culture and in vitro expansion systems for hormone-stimulated mammary stem cells, an organoid system for breast cancer, a co-culture system of mammary stem cells and macrophages, and functional mammary organoids with lactation function — all providing strategies and optimization for breast cancer target and drug screening. Dr. Tan Liang, President of the Beike Biotech Research Institute, drawing on his own research, presented the clinical research progress of stem cells across multiple disciplines. He has applied stem cell therapy to nine major disease areas — including systemic lupus erythematosus, pediatric cerebral palsy, type 2 diabetes, and decompensated cirrhosis — providing patients with new therapeutic options and demonstrating the enormous potential of stem cell therapy in cell replacement, tissue repair, and disease treatment.

The discussion session was chaired by Professor Zhang Bo of the Army Specialty Medical Center and Professor Shi Chunmeng of the Army Medical University. Participating experts discussed multiple aspects, including stem cell management practices, the quality and safety evaluation of stem cell products, stem cell clinical research and the registration of cell products, and stem cell quality testing and evaluation, providing thoughtful opinions and suggestions for the clinical application and translational development of new stem cell technologies.

Lively discussion among participants
With the rapid advancement of science and technology, stem cell clinical application research and organoid construction technologies have gradually emerged in the medical field. These innovative technologies bring new opportunities to medicine and provide new solutions for the treatment and study of disease. The convening of this symposium contributes to in-depth research on stem cells and organoids and to the development of regenerative medicine. Chongqing Medicine will continue to dedicate itself to strengthening academic exchange among industry peers, expanding cooperative research, and promoting the high-quality development of health-related scientific research.
Beike Biotech will also continue to step up its investment in the research and application of stem cell technologies, actively cooperating and exchanging with peers at home and abroad, jointly driving the innovation and development of stem cell technologies, and injecting new momentum into the clinical application and translational development of stem cell technology.
