On June 18, the project proposal defense for Dr. Tang Zan, a postdoctoral researcher jointly trained by the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shenzhen Beike Biotechnology Co., Ltd., was held at Beike Biotech. Experts and officials in attendance included Professor Ding Jian of the School of Life Sciences at Xi'an Jiaotong University, Associate Professor Liu Gefei of the Guangdong Food and Drug Vocational College, Associate Researcher Hu Yong of the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dr. Hu Xiang, Chairman of Shenzhen Beike Biotechnology Co., Ltd., and Dr. Liu Muyun, postdoctoral workstation supervisor.

At the defense, Dr. Tang Zan presented the proposal report on his research project "Studying Mesenchymal Stem Cell Therapy for Pulmonary Fibrosis Using Single-Cell Sequencing," elaborating in detail on the project's background, current status, research approach, methods and innovations. The review panel of experts carefully evaluated Dr. Tang's proposal report, identified the theoretical and practical significance of the topic and the research challenges, and offered constructive opinions and recommendations. Ultimately, the review panel unanimously approved Dr. Tang Zan's proposal report.

Dr. Liu Muyun, supervisor at the postdoctoral workstation, and Professor Hu Yong, Associate Researcher at the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, serve as Dr. Tang Zan's mentors. Dr. Liu Muyun introduced the basic situation of Beike Biotech's postdoctoral workstation to the review panel. As a National High-Tech Enterprise specializing in the clinical translation and technology services of biotherapy technology, a strategic emerging industry, Beike Biotech possesses strong scientific research capabilities, and hopes that Dr. Tang Zan will fully leverage the resources of the joint training platform between Beike Biotech and the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, conduct sound topic research, achieve more high-quality research outcomes, and make even greater contributions in the field of life sciences.

Dr. Tang Zan: obtained his Ph.D. from the School of Life Sciences at Peking University. His main research direction during his Ph.D. was murine pulmonary development and regeneration after pulmonary injury. During his Ph.D. studies, he was invited to give a talk at the 2016 Annual Meeting of the American Society for Cell Biology, and he received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award of the National Institute of Biological Sciences, Beijing, among other honors. His research results have been published in internationally renowned journals such as Developmental Cell and PNAS.

—— Beike Biotech Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base ——

In 2013, Beike Biotech was approved by the Shenzhen Human Resources and Social Security Bureau to establish a Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base. It was one of 27 institutions in Shenzhen designated as a "Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base" that year.

Shenzhen's postdoctoral innovation practice base initiative began in 1995. The participating organizations are predominantly high-tech enterprises, with leading enterprises selected from each field. As a leader in its niche, Beike Biotech's establishment of a Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base in the cell field reflects our scientific research capabilities and our ability to translate innovative technologies into commercial outcomes in life sciences. Going forward, we will continue, in accordance with relevant policies and requirements, to recruit and train postdoctoral researchers, build bridges between high-tech talent and enterprises, accelerate the translation and industrialization of high-tech achievements, and seamlessly link "production, education, and research."
