On 10 June, the signing ceremony for the Wudangshan Life and Health Industry Development Project was held at the Wudangshan Hotel in Shiyan. Liu Yunmei, Vice Mayor of Shiyan, and Hu Junyuan, Chairman, and Liu Xiangyang, Senior Vice President, of Shenzhen Beike Biotechnology Co., Ltd. attended the signing ceremony. Shen Mingyun, Party Secretary of the Wudangshan Special Zone Working Committee and Director of its Administrative Committee, presided over the ceremony. Mei Hua, Deputy Party Secretary and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee; Lei Zhen, Member of the Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee; and Luo Jie, Party Secretary of Taihe Hospital, attended the ceremony.

Liu Yunmei welcomed Hu Junyuan and his delegation. She noted that Beike Biotech's settling of its Wudangshan Life and Health Industry project in Wudangshan, Shiyan, is at once a dialogue between modern life sciences and traditional Daoist medicine and a journey of inquiry in life sciences research. It not only provides strong support for Wudangshan in becoming an international tourism destination, an Eastern wellness capital and a major center of Chinese culture, but also marks a milestone in the history of health-sector development in Wudangshan.


Liu Yunmei noted that Shiyan possesses not only a high-quality natural ecological environment but also strong medical resources, science-and-education advantages and a solid medical foundation. As a leading enterprise in the cell field in China and indeed worldwide, Beike Biotech and Shiyan have ample room for cooperation in wellness, life and health research and laboratory construction. She hoped that Beike Biotech, the Wudangshan Special Zone and Taihe Hospital would seize this collaboration as an opportunity, give full play to advantages in resources, talent, technology, healthcare and brand, strengthen liaison and communication, combine their strengths and jointly advance implementation, further building up the medical tourism and major-health industry, and striving to make Wudangshan an international tourism and wellness destination.


Hu Junyuan said that Wudangshan, as a famous domestic scenic area and wellness destination, has a healthy tourism industry, a strong wellness foundation, complete medical infrastructure and powerful brand influence; building a life and health industry in Wudangshan offers broad market prospects. Beike Biotech will, in the spirit of "integrity, pragmatism, innovation and inclusiveness", cooperate sincerely with the Wudangshan Special Zone and Taihe Hospital to accelerate the project's landing and operation, and contribute its share to the leapfrog development of Wudangshan's major-health industry.


At the signing ceremony, representatives of Shenzhen Beike Biotechnology Co., Ltd., the Special Zone Administrative Committee and Taihe Hospital jointly signed the agreement. Beike Biotech also signed an agreement with Taihe Health Investment Management Co., Ltd.

Under the agreement, Beike Biotech will, leveraging Wudangshan's world-renowned tourism resources, establish a Shiyan Comprehensive Cell Bank, Regional Cell Preparation Center and Big Data Center at the Wudangshan Branch of Taihe Hospital, and promote advanced biotherapeutic technologies and cell storage technologies. The aim is to build, in Wudangshan, Shiyan, a major health industry base built on life sciences research, with the clinical application of life sciences technologies in medical institutions as the main thread and health management and elder care/wellness for healthy and sub-healthy populations as a complementary line, fully developing a leading national life sciences industry cluster.
