On 8 July 2021, at the first plenary meeting of the Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Working Committee of the Seventh Session of the Standing Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Congress, Liu Xiangyang, Senior Vice President of Beike Biotech, was elected as a member of the Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Working Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee.
The Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Working Committee of the Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee is a working body of the Standing Committee, responsible for the Standing Committee's work liaison with municipal foreign affairs, overseas Chinese affairs, Taiwan affairs and ports of entry departments. In line with its assigned responsibilities, it carries out preliminary review of the regulatory documents submitted by the municipal people's government, district people's congresses and their standing committees for filing with the Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee, handles the Standing Committee's foreign affairs, overseas Chinese affairs, Taiwan affairs and other external liaison work, and coordinates the foreign-affairs reception activities of the Standing Committee leadership and relevant special committees and working bodies.
