The Second Xiongan International Health Forum on "Healthy Xiongan, Healthy Future" opened on the morning of October 17 in Langfang, Hebei. Chen Gang, Standing Committee Member of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee, Vice Governor, Secretary of the CPC Xiongan New Area Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee; Diego Aulestia, 2019 Chair of the Group of 77; Huang Jiefu, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Health; Wang Guoqiang, former Vice Minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission and President of the China Association of Chinese Medicine; and more than 600 Chinese and foreign guests attended the opening ceremony.
The forum was jointly hosted by the Shenzhen Shi Jian Public Welfare Foundation, the China Medicine and Healthcare Culture Association, the China Association of Chinese Medicine, and the China Society of Strategy and Management Research, with strong support from the Hebei Provincial Government, the Hebei Development and Reform Commission, the Xiongan New Area Management Committee, and other relevant departments. On the day of the opening, the event drew significant attention from China's pharmaceutical sector, with mainstream media including Xinhua News, China News Service, and Ta Kung Pao all reporting on the gathering.
On the day of the meeting, frontline professionals and corporate representatives from the pharmaceutical industry, along with officials, experts and scholars from 18 countries and international organizations, gathered to engage in in-depth discussions on hot topics such as 5G smart healthcare, medical progress and technological innovation, the development of traditional Chinese medicine and herbal medicine, innovation and industrial translation, big data and artificial intelligence, and women's and children's health, sharing insights for the construction of "Healthy Xiongan."
As the executive chair of the Xiongan International Health Forum, Dr. Hu Xiang, Chairman of Beike Biotech and Honorary President of the Shenzhen Shi Jian Public Welfare Foundation, also delivered an excellent keynote.
Dr. Hu Xiang noted that health is the future of humanity, a fundamental right and well-being that everyone should enjoy, and the most important industry of the future, bearing on national and people's livelihoods. Yet across the global health field, there is no Davos-level forum dedicated to health. The forums that exist are all specialized — for example, oncology meetings or cardiovascular meetings. The Xiongan International Health Forum is a cross-disciplinary forum that brings together scientists, entrepreneurs, bankers, and government officials — those who can represent each layer — to jointly discuss health issues, more efficiently understand each other and solve problems. This is the first time such a meeting has taken place in the health field.
To this end, Dr. Hu Xiang hopes that the Xiongan International Health Forum will create a cross-disciplinary exchange platform that allows different participants to more efficiently understand each other's needs, advance the entire health industry, advance human progress, and serve the people's health.
