On 27 January, the Baoding Municipal People's Government held a cloud signing ceremony for key cooperation projects, successfully signing a strategic cooperation agreement with Shenzhen Beike Biotechnology Co., Ltd. ("Beike Biotech"). The two sides will actively leverage their respective resources and strengths to jointly build a life and health industry and national medical center for Baoding, contributing to Baoding's industrial upgrading and the building of a distinctive medical brand. Due to the pandemic, the signing ceremony was held online. Dang Xiaolong, Party Secretary of Baoding, delivered remarks; Mayor Guo Jianying presided over the ceremony; and Standing Committee member of the Municipal Party Committee and Executive Vice Mayor Li Guoyong, on behalf of the municipal government, completed the signing with Dr. Hu Junyuan, Chairman of Beike Biotech.
In his remarks, Baoding Party Secretary Dang Xiaolong said that the implementation of major national strategies, the city's unique geographical advantages and its strong development momentum have built up Baoding's distinctive investment and development potential. Baoding will commit the city's full resources to driving urban transformation, industrial transformation and the optimization of the business environment. Together with cooperating enterprises, the city will seize the historic development opportunities brought by the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy, and accumulate strong momentum for high-quality development as it places priority on industries such as life and health, data services and cultural tourism.Baoding is one of the most dynamic and promising central cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Building on the "National Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Coordinated Development Plan" and Hebei Province's strategic deployment of building the Beijing-Xiongan-Baoding-Shijiazhuang Life and Health Corridor, the city is planning and advancing the bioeconomy and digital economy. The implementation of a series of major national strategies will make Baoding a triple-aggregation center in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region for high-end biopharmaceutical R&D and medical talent, life and health innovation resources and innovation entities, and capabilities for public and specialized medical services, and a new growth pole for the development of biotechnology and the life and health industry.Beike Biotech is one of the most technically experienced leading enterprises in China's cell biology field. It has previously received the industry's first National Technological Invention Award for the project "Key Technical Innovation and Clinical Application Research of Allogeneic Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Treating Refractory Lupus Erythematosus", established the country's first joint engineering center, and ledthe formulation of multiple Shenzhen local standards in the cell industry, making it a leader in industry innovation and development.
