Dr. Liao Yan of Beike Biotech's R&D Center recently received a letter of congratulations from the top international publisher Elsevier. The letter celebrated her research published on March 4, 2020, in the renowned international journal Molecular Therapy under the title "Cardiac Nestin+ Mesenchymal Stromal Cells Enhance Healing of Ischemic Heart through Periostin-Mediated M2 Macrophage Polarization", noting that the research is recognized as relevant to UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) and plays an important role in helping to address some of the world's most pressing challenges. The Elsevier publishing group has issued a certificate of honor in recognition. SDG 3 is: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
The paper primarily reports the discovery of Nestin-positive cells in situ in the heart with mesenchymal stem cell properties, demonstrating that they can be used to treat acute myocardial infarction with favorable therapeutic outcomes, and elucidating the mechanism by which they regulate M2 macrophage polarization. The findings make important contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Molecular Therapy is a renowned journal under the world-leading publishing house Elsevier, with a current impact factor of 12.4 (CAS Tier 1, top journal).
