The project "Key Technology Innovation and Clinical Application Research of Allogeneic Mesenchymal Stem Cells in the Treatment of Refractory Lupus Erythematosus", submitted by Shenzhen Beike Biotechnology Co., Ltd., was successfully selected for the "Shenzhen Enterprise Innovation Record" and won the "Product R&D Innovation Project Award".
The project "Key Technology Innovation and Clinical Application Research of Allogeneic Mesenchymal Stem Cells in the Treatment of Refractory Lupus Erythematosus" is an outstanding achievement of Beike Biotech in the clinical translation of biotherapy technologies. The project team was the first to apply allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells in the treatment of refractory systemic lupus erythematosus, with significant efficacy: an effective rate of 60%, no serious adverse reactions, and a reduction in the 5-year mortality rate from 45% to 16%. The research not only enriches the basic theory of the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases, but also opens up a new pathway for the treatment of refractory autoimmune diseases, addressing the challenge of refractory patients who do not respond to conventional treatment. It carries important scientific value and significant potential for clinical application, and has attracted considerable attention from peers at home and abroad. In 2019, the project was awarded the National Technology Invention Award (Second Prize).
