Cui Tiankai, Chinese Ambassador to the United States; Xu Qin, Mayor of Shenzhen; Patrick Santillo, U.S. Department of Commerce Deputy Assistant Secretary; Kathy Hochul, Lieutenant Governor of New York State; Myron Brilliant, Adviser to the Governor of Guangdong Province and Executive Vice President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; and Zhang Qiyue, Consul General at the Chinese Consulate General in New York, also attended.
This China (Guangdong)–USA (New York) Trade and Economic Cooperation Exchange covered world-renowned enterprises in high-tech fields including healthcare and biotechnology, finance, and Internet+. Amid the broader trend of economic globalization, this China (Guangdong)–USA (New York) Trade and Economic Cooperation Exchange offered a wide-ranging platform for cooperation between Guangdong and the United States, bringing more business opportunities to both regions. Beike Biotech took this opportunity to enter into comprehensive strategic cooperation with renowned U.S. cancer therapy company Altor BioScience, joining the "U.S. Cancer Moonshot." Announced during President Obama's State of the Union address in January of that year, the program aims to accelerate progress in fighting cancer over the next five years and to break down barriers that prevent researchers from collaborating. Led by U.S. Vice President Biden, the program is jointly initiated by leading U.S. biotech companies including Altor BioScience, Amgen and Celgene, U.S. cancer research institutions, the largest U.S. health insurance payer, and Bank of America. The official launch of this program marks the formal arrival of the era of personalized cancer therapy.
