Hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, the China International Talent Exchange Conference – Shenzhen Forum was held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. Numerous experts, scholars, and business elites from home and abroad gathered for a top-level forum on technological innovation and talent development.

On April 14, 2019, the 17th China International Talent Exchange Conference – Shenzhen Forum, hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology (State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs) and the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, was held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. Zhang Jianguo, Vice Minister of Science and Technology and Director of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs; Liu Qingsheng, Standing Committee member of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, Vice Mayor of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, and Secretary of its Party Leadership Group; and more than 700 experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and business elites from home and abroad gathered to share, around such themes as "technological innovation" and "talent growth", their insights into the sustainable development and innovation of science, technology, and talent under new international circumstances.[1]

As a notable contributor to stem cell research and clinical translational application, Dr. Hu Xiang, Chairman of Beike Biotech, was invited to attend this forum and delivered an outstanding keynote address titled "Technological Innovation Driving the Medical Revolution". Around the three core themes of "people", "technology", and "life", he provided an in-depth interpretation of frontier areas such as life sciences and the biopharmaceutical industry, and shared his outlook on the future direction of medicine.

Other distinguished speakers at the forum included Royal Academy of Engineering Fellows Sir Jim McDonald and John Speakman, the "Father of the Internet of Things" Kevin Ashton, Hong Kong Affairs Chief Liaison Officer of the Qianhai Authority Witman Hung, and University of Westminster Vice-Chancellor Peter Bonfield, all of whom delivered excellent presentations.
