State Councillor Wang Yong recently attended the China Quality (Shenzhen) Conference and conducted research in Shenzhen, where he stressed the need to be guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, uphold the new development concept, take supply-side structural reform as the main thread, vigorously implement the strategy of building China into a country of strong quality, focus on improving the quality and efficiency of development, and provide solid support for better meeting the people's aspirations for a better life and driving high-quality economic development.
Wang Yong noted the importance of putting quality first and giving priority to efficiency, further improving the institutional framework for quality work, strengthening the quality governance system, raising quality governance capacity, vigorously promoting social co-governance of quality, strengthening in-process and post-process supervision, increasing penalties for violations, and raising quality regulation and services to a new level. He called for actively responding to consumer demand upgrades, improving the level of quality supply, sustaining quality improvement initiatives, stimulating quality innovation, and focusing on expanding product varieties, improving quality, and creating brands so as to better meet market needs. He emphasized optimizing the environment for quality development, refining supportive policies, strengthening talent development, and cultivating and championing a culture of excellence in quality. International exchange and cooperation in the field of quality should be deepened, the connectivity of quality infrastructure strengthened, mutual recognition of standards and certification and accreditation results promoted, the quality of global industrial and supply chains raised, and the benefits of quality development extended to people in all countries.
